My name is Tori Potenza (she/they) I am a queer film critic and horror scholar residing in the Philadelphia area. I have a Masters in Public History and my focus is mainly on the history and study of women’s issues. My thesis being on the treatment of women in the mental health field. You can find my online exhibit here.
I have long been a fan of film and hosted horror movie nights at a local bar in South Philadelphia. Later I met an amazing community of film lovers in Philadelphia and became a contributor for Cinema76.com. At the beginning of 2021 Cinema76 merged with MovieJawn and I became a Staff Writer and Outreach Manager. Through my work at MovieJawn I get to combine my love of history and research with my love of horror, genre, and exploitation films. I have a series on David Cronenberg and Sex & Gender themes in his films. I recently started a series on Women Who Kill and how these deadly ladies are portrayed on screen.
